Tweed's Best Fishing Guides
About The Owner: Bryon Sturch
So just a little about me, I have been fishing for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a
cottage on the moira river where I got to fulfill my love of fishing every summer, catching bass
and sunfish with my family. Around 7 years old I found my fascination with fishing turning from
catching as many fish as I could to trying to catch the biggest fish I could. That summer our
neighbor called us out to look at the fish he just caught and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to
catch one!! It was a musky!!! Later that year I had the pleasure of watching a couple young guys
catch and release three big muskies and my addiction was set in stone.
Moving forward 7 years, I got my first job at Hitchon Pumps, it allowed me to fuel my addiction
by allowing me to purchase my first musky set up and a couple lures from Stacey Ash at Pro
Tackle. That summer we set off to chase the elusive musky. I put in a lot of hours on the water
with Jesse Hitchon and reading articles in Musky Hunter magazine, thanks to his parents and was
able to finally put one in the boat. We finally figured out the casting game, when I was
around 17, I was able to put my first 50” fish in the boat! A few days later I found out why it is so
important to have the right tools on the boat when you are fishing for muskies, when I got stuck
with my first hook. Luckily there was no tendon or nerve damage but boy was it a learning
curve.
A Passion for Muskie Fishing
I am now 34 years old and my passion for the sport has grown with me! I have been taking
people out to introduce them to the musky game since I was 18 and finally decided to take it to
the next level, that is where Burnin’ Baits Started. In 2018 my wife allowed me to buy a new
boat that would allow me to take people out a lot more comfortably. The Lund Pro V Bass 1875
XS is an amazing boat for musky fisherman that love to cast.
I have had the pleasure to be part of the Pro Advantages Sports and Hobbies family with Jamie
Erwin and Shane Mcpeak for the last 5 years . I had the pleasure of taking Shane Mcpeak on his
first musky adventure when we were in our late teens early twenties and am lucky enough to
still fish with him today. It was also because of them that I was given the oppourtunity to get on
with Shimano Fishing Canada in a field staff posistion.
